Grandmas’ Ginger Biscuits – Recipe

When I was growing up there were always two things we looked forward to when going to my grandparents house.  First a drink of homemade lemonade after picking lemons from the tree and second Grandmas baking.  One of those favourites I have already shared – Grandmas Fruit Cake, and now I want to share her Ginger Biscuits with you.

1/2 cup sugar
125 grams butter
1 tbsp milk
2 tbsp golden syrup
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tbsp ginger

Preheat the oven to 150 C, line baking sheet with baking paper
Beat the butter and sugar until creamy
Gently heat the golden syrup in a pot then add the milk and baking soda
Add dry ingredients and wet ingredients to the butter and sugar and mix
Roll into balls, place on baking tray and flatten slightly
Bake for 15 – 20 minutes until golden brown
Remove from oven, allow to cool for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack
