Raspberry Apple Slice Recipe

This recipe reminds me of my grandmas apple shortcake recipe (which is always a good thing), and makes a delicious dessert or afternoon treat for those special guests.

Raspberry Apple Slice Recipe

1 400g can apple pie filling
1 tsp lemon juice
2 1/2 cup self raising flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla essence
175g butter melted
2/3 jar raspberry jam
Preheat oven to 180 and line a square baking tin
Stir in lemon juice into apples
Place flour and sugar in food processor and pulse to mix
Add egg, vanilla and butter and pulse until resembles bread crumbs
Press 3/4  of the crumb mixture into the tray
Warm the jam slightly and spread over the base
Then spread apple mixture over top
Scatter remaining crumbs evenly over top
Bake 35 minutes until golden then cool before slicing
