Maple Biscuits – Recipe

I picked this recipe up off the back of a pack of chocolate melts, and thought I would try it out for the kids lunch boxes for school. They loved it, and it has become a hit with them.  I don’t usually drizzle chocolate over them as well as put the melt on the top, but for special occasions – like sharing with you – it is a nice addition.

Maple Biscuits

125 grams butter softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp milk
milk chocolate melts

Preheat oven to 165 C and line a baking tray
Cream the butter and sugar until pale
Beat in the maple syrup
Add flour and baking powder and mix well
If the mixture doesn’t hold together add milk and mix in
Roll into balls and put on baking tray
Gently push a chocolate melt into top of each ball
Bake 10 – 12 minutes
Remove from oven and leave to cool for a few minutes
Transfer to cooling rack
Drizzle with chocolate when cold if desired
