This is recipe is a quick easy recipe I remember making in Home Economics at school and one we would help Mum with when baking.
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp golden syrup
1 tbsp milk
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
Preheat the oven to 180 C
Gently heat butter, sugar, golden syrup and milk in a saucepan until butter melts and it’s almost boiling.
Allow to cool until lukewarm
Add the baking soda and mix
Sift in the flour and stir well.
Roll into balls and flatten lightly with a fork
Bake for 15 – 20 minutes until golden
Cool slightly on tray until removing to cooling rack.
