Christmas Meringues – Recipe

While I was looking around for ideas for christmas I saw some cute photos of little christmas tree meringues so I thought I would make them as a treat for my kids.  I didn’t have any stars when I made these but that would make a nice edition to the top too.


4 egg whites
pinch salt
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vinegar
few drops of green food colouring

Preheat oven to 120°C. Line two baking trays with baking paper.
In a clean, dry bowl place the egg whites and the salt.
Using an electric beater to beat the egg whites until soft peaks form.
Add the suger slowly, and beat until combined.
Fold in the vinegar and food colouring
Pipe the mixture on to the tray in the form of a tree
Sprinkle the meringues with the sprinkles
If you have star sprinkles you could add these on top as well.
Bake for 1 hour and leave in oven to cool
