Fruit Crumble – Sugar Free Recipe

As a part of my sweet exploration I am also looking for healthier options.  I am experimenting with sugar free and flour free recipes.  One of my first attempts was this adaption of a fruit crumble.

Choose your fruit base.  I used apple and raspberry in this one.

Sugar Free Fruit Crumble

25 grams butter
2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup of coconut flour
1/4 cup of coconut
1/4 cup of chopped almonds and pecans
1/2 tsp of baking powder

Melt the butter and stir in the maple syrup
Add the rest of the ingredients and mix together
Place cooked fruit in the base of the dish
Sprinkle the crumble topping on the fruit
Bake at 180 C for 20 minutes or until golden

Serve warm and top with sugar free ice-cream.  One of my aims for the summer is to get an ice-cream maker and try out some different ice creams, so be on the look out for recipes for this soon.
