A Slice of S’mores – Recipe

Traditionally S’mores is an American campfire treat using Graham Crackers, chocolate and toasted marshmallows.  I had thought about making some up for a post but decided why not make a modified version of it as a slice you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home.  This is what I came up with.

1 packet of digestives (or Graham crackers if you have them)
1 tsp of cinnamon (optional)
100 grams butter
1/2 cup of condensed milk
1 cup chocolate chips or melts
1 1/2 cup of small marshmallows
Chocolate to drizzle over top if desired

Crush the biscuits and mix in the cinnamon
Melt the butter with the condensed milk (do not boil)
Mix in the melted butter and condensed milk and press into tin to make a biscuit base
Melt the chocolate and spread over the base
Add the marshmallows on top while chocolate is still warm
Place in oven on grill for a few minutes until browned
Serve warm or cooled as desired

I made these one afternoon and set about to photograph them, my boys came in and were very disappointed they couldn’t eat them straight away and my 1 1/2 year old daughter just walked straight up to the table where I was taking the photos, stuck her finger into the marshmallow topping and walked off with one stuck to her finger.  Needless to say they were liked all around.
